The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other national data protection laws is:
General information.
The protection of your personal data is important to us. We process your data exclusively on the basis of the statutory provisions (GDPR, BDSG (German Federal Data Protection Act), TDDDG (German Digital Services Data Protection Act) and the professional duty of confidentiality).
This privacy policy informs you of the extent to which and the purpose for which personal data is collected and processed when you visit this website. In principle, this website can be used without providing personal data.
Your rights as a data subject.
You have the following rights:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR) — you may request information about the data stored about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) — you may request the rectification of inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) — you may request the erasure of your data, provided that no statutory retention obligations conflict with this.
- Right to restriction (Art. 18 GDPR) — you may request the restriction of processing.

An informal message to the contact details given above is sufficient to exercise your rights.
Competent supervisory authority.
Server log files.
When this website is accessed, our hosting provider automatically records information transmitted by your browser in so-called server log files. These are:
- IP address of the requesting device (anonymised)
- Date and time of the request
- Page / file accessed
- HTTP status code and volume of data transferred
- Referrer URL (previously visited page)
- Browser type, browser version and operating system
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the technically error-free and secure operation of the website).
Storage period: The log files are stored for a maximum of 14 days and are then deleted automatically. This data is not merged with other data sources.
Cookies.
This website does not use any tracking cookies or analytics cookies at all. Only technically necessary cookies (e.g. to store your cookie choice, if enabled) that are required for the operation of the website are used.
These are permitted without consent under Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (German Digital Services Data Protection Act, successor to the TTDSG). You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases or exclude them generally.
SSL/TLS encryption.
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, this website uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address bar of your browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar.
Hosting.
This website is hosted by:
A data processing agreement (Auftragsverarbeitungsvertrag, AVV) pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider, ensuring that your data is processed exclusively on our instructions and in accordance with the GDPR. The servers are located in Germany.
Fonts (hosted locally).
This website uses Urbanist and Instrument Serif as its typefaces. These fonts are loaded exclusively locally from our own server — a connection to the servers of Google Fonts or any other external provider does not take place. This means that no data is transmitted to third parties.
Contacting us.
If you contact us by email or telephone, the details you provide (name, contact details, content of your message) will be processed for the purpose of handling your enquiry and in case of follow-up questions.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures / performance of a treatment contract) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling your enquiry).
Storage period: We store your enquiry for as long as is necessary to answer it. If a treatment contract is concluded, the statutory retention periods apply (in particular Section 630f BGB (German Civil Code) — 10 years for patient records).
External links and references.
Google Maps (route planning)
On this website we do not embed a Google Maps map directly. Instead, we use a simple link that opens the Google Maps website in a new tab when clicked (route planning). A connection to Google is only established when you click. Google's privacy policy then applies: policies.google.com/privacy.
Link to the main practice
This website is a satellite site of the Wurzelwerk practice and links, among others, to zahnaerztekiel.de. When you access this external site, its privacy policy applies.
NDR / external press sources
We link to external editorial sources (e.g. NDR Schleswig-Holstein). These links open in a new tab. When they are accessed, data is transmitted to the respective provider. We have no influence on their data processing. Please consult the relevant sites for information.
Data protection at the practice.
The information presented here relates exclusively to the processing of personal data when visiting this website. For the processing of your data in the context of dental treatment in our practice, separate data protection information applies, which you will be given at the practice before treatment begins or will receive on request.
Changes to this privacy policy.
We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy so that it always complies with current legal requirements, or in order to reflect changes to our services in the privacy policy. The version applicable at the time will then apply to your next visit.
